Take a trip...into the VOID
For nearly a decade, Voidgazer have pummelled their way through the musical landscape of
their Columbus, Ohio home. Commanding attention with their precise blend of volume heavy riff-based rock, and arena rock
bravado, they carry the torch for diehard believers in the saving power of the monster riff.
Their immense sound occupies the sonic space between Black Sabbath and Johnny Cash. Firmly
grounded in their midwestern roots, they push the envelope of what "regional" music is expected to sound like. In the case
of the influence of Mr. Cash, Voidgazer's own interpretation of his timeless "Folsom Prison Blues" has been hailed as the
freshest take on that chestnut in years.
The true testament to Voidgazer's dedication to their mission is the passion of the individual
players. John Hadley's axe work, emanating from a Gold Top Les Paul and a Marshall amp calls to mind the heady feeling of
rock's finest. Eric Heath's bass groove, created with the time-tested combo of an Ampeg SVT amplifier
with a good old reliable Fender P, lays the doomy foundation that is anchored into place by Brian Owen's snap and pop drum
work. On top of all of that sits the world weary vocals of Kevin Montavon, challenging the listener to take their own trip
into the void of the human soul.
